Occupy Puerto Rico Against...Capitalism?

About 200 people gathered on "The Golden Mile" last Saturday to protest capitalism and government cuts as part of worldwide response to Occupy Wall Street. Fortunately, Occupy Puerto Rico remained peaceful, while associated events around thge world turned violent. In Brussels, London, and Rome enraged citizens clashed with police and vandalized banks.

The spokesman for Puerto Rico's event says some participants plan to camp out in a lush public park for an indefinite amount of time. Miguel Lozada says the group also will consider future marches to demand a wide array of changes, such as the creation of more jobs.

Protesters include university students, housewives and the president of the island's Association of Physicians and Surgeons.
