Pop Art Exhibition in Plaza

as i opened fire by Roy LichtensteinThe Museo de Arte de Ponce extension in Plaza Las Americas (MAP@PLAZA) will open a new exhibition this Saturday, May 3rd. The new exhibition will feature 70 pieces of art that reflect the pop art movement which emerged in the 1950's and was popularized by artists such as Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, and Eduardo Arroyo.

The collection that will be available is provided by the Institut Valencia d'Art Modern (IVAM) and features works by 27 artists. The works include paintings, sculpture, prints, and photographs created as early as 1949, and as late as 2000.

In addition, the exhibit will also feature 12 special works by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, including such famous works as the "Campbell Soup" series and "Woman: Sun Light, Moonlight", respectively.

The IVAM exhibition will remain in MAP@PLAZA until August 10th, and the Warhol and Lichtenstein exhibition will be available until August 31st. For more information call (787) 200-7900. Tickets will cost $5.00 for adults, $2.50 for children 12 and younger.
