Finally...

Today the El Nuevo Dia carried a two page advertisement for the Rush Snakes and Arrows Live Tour announcement. There will be second pre-sales event, this time sponsored by Visa and hosted at TicketPop, starting this Saturday February 2nd. As new all-time commenter Gabriel has shared, this means, if you don't have a Visa card, you're not going to be able to buy tickets. Not sure if there will be a regular sales date, no word yet on that. While I've already got some pretty good seats, I know that I'll be online Saturday morning to see if I can get a little closer.

There is still no announcement who (or if anyone) might open for Rush, if you asked me, I think Black:Guayaba would match nicely with Rush and make the evening complete.

Otherwise, there has been a lot of excitement within the local Rush fan community. According to the Rush.com web site, the band will unveil a re-vamped set list for the Puerto Rico show. Everyone is anxious to see what songs will be added or dropped.

In all of the excitement of the pre-sales, I forgot to mention that Music Today, host of the first pre-sale, is also offering a pre-sale on a new double live CD recorded during the 2007 Snakes and Arrows tour. Most likely, the recording is from the Rotterdam show, which was recorded for a potential DVD. The setlist from that show was as follows:

Set 1:

Limelight
Digital Man
Entre Nous
Mission
Freewill
The Main Monkey Business
The Larger Bowl (with McKenzie Brothers intro)
Secret Touch
Circumstances
Between The Wheels
Dreamline

Intermission

Set 2:

Far Cry
Workin' Them Angels
Armor And Sword
Spindrift
The Way The Wind Blows
Subdivisions
Natural Science
Witch Hunt
Malignant Narcissism
Drum Solo
Hope
Distant Early Warning
The Spirit of Radio
Tom Sawyer (with South Park intro)

Encore:

One Little Victory
A Passage to Bangkok
YYZ

The 2008 Rush tour will be in support of this new live CD, which is why the pre-show advertisements have changed. The CD is scheduled for release in April and the band will release "Working Them Angels" as a single from the CD.

dante, dude your making me feel like an abuelo here. Since my first concert was damn near 30 years ago, and 21 years since I last saw Rush. I'm real happy that you like Rush and get ready to get your circuits blown, because I have a feeling that on April 11th Rush is going to give an extra special show. Dare I say, this may be the best concert you may ever see, ever. So don't you go and become faithless, put on your bravest face and we'll both hold on! :-D

Yeah 2112 live is ALWAYS a treat, so IMA die too! I bet seeing Iron Maiden is going to be pretty cool though, but I've already seen them, way back when they had Bruce Dickinson singing.

I remember that they had this robotic Eddie puppet they moved out onto the stage and it elevated itself up over the band. It was pretty sick, so they put on a good show too, but I think Rush will leave them running for the hills.
