La Tierra Vista Desde El Cielo - Preparations

While we have many photographs and video from this mornings inauguration of La Tierra Vista Desde El Cielo exhibit. I wanted to share some of the photographs we took in the final days before the opening. We'll also be adding additional content and tools to our exclusive custom Internet portal for La Tierra Vista Desde El Cielo.

La Tierra Vista Desde El Cielo - Preparations

If you haven't done so, you might want to stop by the portal, but more importantly you should stop by the exhibit. Don't know how to get there? Well first, I would recommend using one of the parking locations, I believe that the Municipal Government Parking is the most convenient. To get directions to the parking garage:
  1. Click on the "como llegar" link. You should receive a new page that shows "Destino de viaje: Estacionamiento - Gobierno Muni" and a pull down list box with a list of all of the municipalities.
  2. Select the municipality you will depart from.
  3. The system will generate driving instructions from the heart of that municipality to the Municipal Government Parking Garage.
What you should know!

Parking - Use the recommended locations for parking. Parking around the Plaza is metered, so unless you have a roll of quarters and want to be running back to the meter every two hours, don't even think about parking on the street.

Security - I've never seen so many police in one area. There is a police officer on every corner and every entrance or exit to the Plaza. Since the exhibit will be open 24 x 7, as I understand it, they will be on duty at all times.

Free Trees - The Departamento de Recursos Naturales y Ambientales is giving away free trees. They hope to give away 60,000 trees (1,000 per 60 days the exhibit will be open) during the course of the event. They are located in the middle of the Dr Ramon Emererio Betances Street side of the Plaza. They have a variety of trees to give away and have personnel on site to help you pick the best tree to plant in your backyard.

Exhibit Souvenirs - On the side of the Plaza Palmer in front of the Catedral Dulce Nombre de Jesús there is a souvenir shop with books and other memorabilia from the exhibit.
