La Calle Grita

La Calle GritaTomorrow the Museo de San Juan will open the graphic exposition, "La Calle Grita". The exposition features 140 caricatures from 40 countries that explore the social problem that all countries face with automobile accidents. The exposition was made available by the municipality of San Juan and the Instituto de Seguriad Vial de la Fundación Mapfre. The exhibit will be available to the public through the 1st of July.

To complete the international exhibit, 50 of the caricatures were done by local professionals and aficionados. Arturo Yépez, caricature artist for the Vocero, who is also the president of the Association of Puerto Rico Caricature Artists, convoked the effort, in the name of Humor Grafico Local. An independent jury evaluated the works and awarded prizes for first, second, and third place.

During the time of the exhibit the municipality will organize a series of related activities including caricature workshops for children, interactive conferences, guided tours, Teatroforo "theater forums" for adolescents, and a speech on "La Historia de la Caricatura en Puerto Rico". All of the events are free and open to the public.
