Akon

OMG, OMG, Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam is coming, Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam is coming in concert! What you are thinking right now, yep, that's pretty much what I am as well. I like to think of myself as highly astute when it comes to pop culture, but I have to admit I've never hear of Aliaune Thiam, better known as Akon.

Akon is a Grammy Award-nominated Senegalese hip-hop and R&B singer, songwriter, record producer, and record executive with two CDs to his credit "Trouble" and "Convicted". In December 2006, Akon's "Smack That" was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards.

He was also featured on Gwen Stefani's latest album, The Sweet Escape. He made an appearance on the title track and second single, "The Sweet Escape". The song was produced by him. On December 10, 2006 both Akon and Stefani appeared as musical guests on Saturday Night Live, however they did not perform the song as Stefani had not yet learned the lyrics. "The Sweet Escape" has reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Akon will be in concert Saturday, March 24th at Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are already on sale st TicketPop. Tickets already purchased for the originally scheduled March 22nd data are valid for the March 24th date.

Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani will be coming to Puerto Rico for the first in her solo career. On July 18th the sultry American solo artist will bring her "The Sweet Escape" tour to Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot. Tickets are not yet on sale.

Stefani is planning to take her nine-month-old son, Kingston with her on world tour, and plans to cope by putting him to bed every night before getting on the stage. "He's going to be in the tour bus. We have got to figure that out,' Contactmusic quoted her, as saying. She added that she would make sure that she rocks her son to sleep before she goes on stage to entertain thousands of her fans. "I am going to bring my rocking chair and just rock him to sleep before I go on stage," she said.
