10th Annual "World's Best 10K"

On February 25th, Puerto Rico will celebrate the 10th anniversary edition of the "World's Best 10K". With an increase of 25%, this year's prizes will top $500,000 dollars across all categories and both sexes. In hot pursuit of the $25,000 Elite first prize, defending champions Wilson Kiprotich y Lornah Kiplagat have already been confirmed for this year. Kiplagat completed the best times in the world in 4 y 10 miles and in 10 y 20 kilometers so she should be the favorite to win this year. The course records for the race are 27:43 (Male), Wilson Kebenei Kiprotich, and 30:21 (Female), Paula Radcliffe.

While registration is still open until February 18th, the cost of registration ($35) now includes a late fee. If the maximum number of participants (15,000) is reached before that date, then registration will close. Registration includes participation in the race as well as the various activities related to the race, like the Fitness Festival.

The Fitness Festival will be both February 23rd and 24th of February in the Coliseo Roberto Clemente. This is the first year tht the festival will be held for two days. The full schedule for the race and related activities is:

February 24 (Saturday)
  • 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM - Fitness Festival & Runner's Kit Pick Up, Roberto Clemente Coliseum
  • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Special Olympics, Roberto Clemente Coliseum
  • 2:00pm - Pasta Party(All you can eat) Roberto Clemente Coliseum
