Su-weet Su-per Bowl Bound

For the first time since the 1960's the Indianapolis Colts are going to the Super Bowl. In a nail biter of a game, the Colts came back to win 38-34 after being behind by as much as 18 points late in the second half. This is the biggest comeback win by any football team in a conference championship game. Their win sets up a meeting with Da Bears (the Chicago Bears) in the Superbowl on February 4, 2007. Tony Dungy, Colts head coach, will join Chicago's Lovie Smith as the first two African-Americans to coach in the Super Bowl.

While I know American football is not huge here in Puerto Rico, I know a lot of people that do enjoy it. For me, I'd have to say that it's my favorite sport, unless you count auto racing a sport then it is a toss up. Ever since the Baltimore Colts moved to Indianapolis 23 years ago, I've been following and cheering (usually moaning) for them. It's been especially exciting to see the rise of Peyton Manning and witness his struggle to win the "Big" game. I feel happy for Manning. He has finally beat the gorilla that's been on his back, and he did it in championship form. The win will hopefully give him the confidence to lead Indianapolis to a Superbowl championship.

The big question now becomes, where to celebrate (read par-tay) and watch the big game? I'll be on the look-out for Superbowl offers and specials and I'll pass on what I find. The obvious choices will be Coaches in Hato Rey and Shannon's Pub in Guaynabo, but there may be some other possibilities out there. Until then, if you know of any cool places to hang out and watch the Super Bowl, shoot us a message.
