A prize carrot for Denise Quiñones

Denise Quiñones, Miss Universe 2001, has been awarded "la mejor actriz de teatro de época" for role as Madame of the Sacred Heart in "Zanahoria". The award was given by the Association of Latin Entertainment Critics (Asociación de Cronistas de Espectáculos).

The comedy which asks "Is it really that dangerous to put a carrot in your mouth?" was written by Antonio Zancada and played at The Duke on 42nd Street Theater. In a previous interview Quiñones said "Al principio pensaba que sería dificil, estaba bien ansiosa." Do you think she was talking about putting a carrot in her mouth? I wonder.... Well the first rule of conduct in Puritania is "These days, you are what others say you are. Life in Society, and there is no life outside society, is built on hearsay. So...if everyone says you are a $#@%*!+, do your best to prove them right."
